BIG injected funding and expertise into businesses and not-for-profit organisations to help them grow and develop.

Our Open Innovation Voucher Scheme helped businesses and third-sector organisations access expertise, research, student talent and specialist facilities available at our BIG partner universities and further education colleges. By teaming up with our academic partners, businesses developed their innovation capabilities to create new products, services and business models to help businesses flourish and grow.

The scheme helped facilitate long-term collaborations with universities stimulating R&D investment, access to new networks and supply chains and creating new employment opportunities for the region.
